The history of the "White Magnolia" is recounted in dozens of texts, yet they all share one common detail – the absence of design images for the first version of the building, the one that was planned and would have undoubtedly been commissioned. Originally designed as a nine-story structure, the building was expanded by four additional levels even before construction was completed, and it is depicted in this form in the sketches. "Magnolia" was positioned as elite housing with a secured territory and its own infrastructure, including a swimming pool and a gym.
Regarding its history, I have personally heard several versions as to why Magnolia was ultimately left unfinished. According to one version, a wealthy businessman built Magnolia but eventually went bankrupt, which meant that the originally planned top floor with a swimming pool never materialized. Another version suggests that the developer was imprisoned because the top floor was built illegally.
Construction was completed in 2011, but the municipality has still not put the building into service.
