About the Exhibition

From July 5th to 8th, the KiNO Course, in collaboration with the Canon Young People Programme and Stone Nest, showcased over 100 photographs and short films created by Ukrainian teenagers displaced by war. The exhibition drew audiences into the heartfelt stories of youth resilience and adaptation, reflecting themes such as identity, homesickness, and the uncertainties of teenage life.

The exhibition featured works from the London workshop, as well as those from Tallinn, Tbilisi, Zaporizhzhia, and various online workshops. Event highlights included a film screening and guided tours, with proceeds from the donation-based tickets directly supporting the KiNO Project’s mission to provide creative opportunities for displaced Ukrainian youth.

I found it to be filled with tragic but courageous stories from every single one of you, trying to grow up amid awful events impacting you, your families and friends, and indeed your whole country."

Attendees had the unique opportunity to interact with the creators and the project's founder, exchanging ideas and insights. The exhibition was open from July 5th to 8th. The project's founders held guided tours on Saturday and Monday and shared enriching insights about the artworks and artists’ creative process.

Valya Korabelnikova

Andy Go

London
Soviet-born British photographer and photography teacher. Works a lot with analogue film, doing all the steps: shooting, developing and hand gelatin-silver printing. Participated in exhibitions in the UK, France, Greece, Italy and Russia.

Vera Pirogova

Berlin
A Berlin-based film director and scriptwriter with Master in film from Tallinn University Her short films have won awards at international festivals, including the Black Nights Tallinn Film Festival and others. Co-founder of KiNO.
